《英雄传说》是由日本Falcom开发的一款电子角色扮演游戏。这个游戏是Dragon Slayer系列的第六代第一部作品，同时是英雄传说系列的第一代第一部作品。
十年前法伦王国遭怪物入侵，杀害了国王阿斯艾尔。由于赛里欧斯王子年幼，于是由大臣亚克达姆管理国政，直到王子长大时再继承王位。
然而在赛里欧斯王子16岁的生日时，如十年前一般再次出现怪物再度入侵。在绝处逢生后得知了这两次的事件都是亚克达姆大臣的阴谋。为了报杀父之仇以及夺回法伦王国，王子在各地号召了义勇军，踏上了复国的漫长道路。
