Anknüpfend an das Ende des ersten Spiels besiegt He Ran (何然) zusammen mit dem Rächer Yang Kunshuo (楊坤碩) und der jungen Thaumaturgin Jiang Ruhong (江如紅) die gefürchtete Verkörperung des Flammenden Phönix (火鳳凰), jenes finsteren Monsters, das Jiang entführt hatte. Sie freunden sich mit dem wohlwollenden Fuchsgeist Gu Yuesheng (古月聖) an und reisen in die Vergangenheit, um He Rans Eltern zu finden. Sie wollen dem Anführer der eindringenden Monster, Bashe, bekannt als der Böse Gott (惡神), ein Ende setzen und stellen sich schließlich dem verräterischen Geist des Gefäßes.
