『ディセント』は、1995年にパララックスソフトウェアによって開発され、インタープレイプロダクションからMS-DOS向けにリリースされたファーストパーソンシューティングゲーム（FPS）です。その後、マッキントッシュ、プレイステーション、RISC OS向けにもリリースされました。本作は、6自由度を採用したFPSゲームのサブジャンルを普及させ、完全な3Dグラフィックスを特徴とする最初のFPSとなりました。プレイヤーは、謎の地球外コンピュータウイルスによって感染した宇宙鉱山ロボットの脅威を排除するために雇われた傭兵として、太陽系の鉱山を巡りながら、鉱山のパワーリアクターを見つけて破壊し、鉱山の自己破壊に巻き込まれないように脱出し、敵対するロボットを倒す必要があります。
