『Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel』 は、1987年11月に Sierra On‑Line より MS‑DOS 用にリリースされたシリーズ第1作で、後に1992年に SCI1.1 エンジンによる VGA リメイク版が発売された。開発は元警察官ジム・ウォールズ。
プレイヤーは Lytton 警察署の刑事 ソニー・ボンズ を操作し、交通事故の調査をきっかけに、毒物犯罪の首謀者 ジェシー・ベインズ（Death Angel） を追う。ゲームは厳格な警察手順の再現を求め、誤操作でゲームオーバーとなる場面も多い。
