《外域戰爭》是 1998 年的軍事科幻第三人稱射擊。你以 CDF Marine Jump Corps 成員身分被派往不同星球的前線，遊戲用一關一關的作戰目標去塑造氛圍：不是演戲式的主線推著走，而是讓你在一次次任務的推進裡，感受到人類在外域戰區的緊繃與代價。
它的核心爽點是立體機動。你可在出擊前選擇不同級別的火箭推進動力裝甲（輕偵察／中型戰鬥／重突擊／重型無畏），再把武器與裝備配成適合該關的“載具化流派”。戰鬥中，你會反覆利用噴射背包創造高度與角度，打出空中掠襲、快速轉向、拉距離再回切的節奏；遊戲也允許你對小隊同伴下指令，讓推進更像一次小隊行動而非單人射擊。多人最多 8 人，模式涵蓋 FFA、團隊對抗、奪旗等，整體是很典型、很老派但很乾脆的對戰味道。
