《最终幻想VII》于1997年在索尼PlayStation平台发行的电子角色扮演游戏，为最终幻想系列第七部本传，本作亦有多个平台的移植版本。游戏是系列首款使用3D运算的作品，其使用即时运算角色和预先渲染的背景。主人公克劳德·史特莱夫最初以雇佣兵身份加入生态恐怖主义组织“雪崩”，企图以武力阻止持有能源专利的特大企业“神罗”为汲取资源而耗尽星球生命。随着情节推进，克劳德和伙伴被卷入另一场更加具威胁性的冲突，起而对抗世上著名的英雄——萨菲罗斯。
