故事上为延续前一份作品《猴岛的诅咒》的结尾，该内容是猴岛小英雄系列男女主角──青年海盗小盖与伊莲成为了夫妻，而在当他们渡完蜜月返回在混乱岛（Melee Island）的住所时，原本应是身为混乱岛领主的伊莲、被不明的流言传出已经丧命而失去领主资格。
为了夺回伊莲失去的领主权力，小盖开始寻找能证明伊莲仍活着的公文。而在寻找公文过程中；小盖打听到伊莲家族中藏有获取一个名为“终极羞辱”（Ultimate Insult）的强大巫毒咒术方法，并得知有一名来自澳洲的神秘土地大亨正计划想夺取终极羞辱的力量、并想将他们拥有之海盗家园改建成度假休闲广场的阴谋。
