本作是《罗德斯岛战记～灰色的魔女～》的续作。故事改编自小说第2至7卷，但小妮丝未登场，其角色由迪德莉特担任。最终任务新增了小说中没有的「降临的邪神卡迪斯之战」。NPC 现在最多可有两人加入队伍。战斗系统改为即使在野外也使用战术战斗，操作性相比《I》有显著提升。此外，还有「高速战斗」选项，可以快速完成自动战斗，但会大幅消耗生命值（LP）和魔法值（MP），且仅能获得10%的经验值。武器能力经过调整，并新增如骑马冲锋等全新设计。角色还可获得如「自由骑士」等称号。
可读取前作《罗德斯岛战记～灰色的魔女～》的创建角色数据，但无法作为玩家角色使用，而是在某个事件中，这些角色会变为NPC的队伍并被击败。在Windows 95版中，故事内容进一步改编为贴近小说，并新增了伍德卡拉与蕾莉娅的事件。
