Army Men II (1999)
The 3DO Company

Play

Army Men II takes the original gameâs dead-serious plastic-soldier war premise and makes it broader, stranger, and more memorable. Once again you follow the Green Armyâs Sarge, but this time the conflict spills beyond the familiar plastic battlefield into oversized âreal worldâ locations like kitchens, bedrooms, garages, and backyards. That shift gives the game its strongest identity: ordinary household spaces become enormous war zones when seen from the perspective of a tiny toy soldier, turning sinks, tabletops, and yard terrain into places that feel surprisingly tense and hostile.
What makes it hold up conceptually is how well that scale fantasy feeds the gameâs pacing. It is still built around real-time tactical forward movement rather than pure run-and-gun action, so each mission has you pushing through hostile space, reading terrain, and surviving a battlefield that constantly reminds you how small you are. It was also the first entry to make portals between the Plastic World and the Real World a central idea, which gave the series a much bigger sense of scope and became one of the defining pieces of its later identity.
