Romance of the Three Kingdoms III: Dragon of Destiny is a classic historical strategy game by Koei and one of the landmark entries in the long-running series. Set in the age of warlords in ancient China, the game asks players to choose from multiple scenarios and take control of a ruler in the struggle to unify the land. Compared with earlier entries, this installment put greater emphasis on governing cities rather than simply controlling larger regions, while also expanding officer statistics, command options, and battlefield depth. Morale, troop types, time progression, and even weather can influence battles, making each campaign feel more dynamic. It also became known for features such as custom officer creation and both historical and fictional play styles, which helped make it one of the most memorable early “Three Kingdoms” strategy games.
