"The Lord of the Beast: Chronicle of Amadis" is a strategic role-playing game developed and produced by Han Tang International Information from Taiwan.
Set in an alternate Japanese medieval Western world, the stage primarily consists of three countries on a continent named Amadis. The character types featured in the game include common roles found in Japanese and Western role-playing games, such as warriors, swordsmen, knights, archers, and mages.
In addition to humans and ordinary animals, the game introduces various magical beasts, including minotaurs, centaurs, dragons, titans, unicorns, various demons, and elemental spirits. The relationships between these beings are such that humans and magical beasts mostly avoid each other and cannot communicate. Among humans, a small group known as Beast Whisperers can communicate with magical beasts and possess the ability to command them.
Due to the overwhelming combat prowess of the magical beasts, Beast Whisperers have become highly sought after by ambitious military leaders of nations. This aspect makes Beast Whisperers synonymous with terror on the battlefield.
Notably, the game does not feature elf-like races that resemble humans, which are often found in Western fantasy settings.
